Monday 13th Searching Databases workshop rescheduled to 2pm

The Searching databases using OvidSP  session has been rescheduled from 1-2pm to 2-3pm

The session will be held in the Library Training Room.

Course outline
This session is for those who need to carry out more in-depth research, such as for a literature review, dissertation, research project etc.

At the end of this session you will be able to:

  • Create and plan a search strategy
  • Use the search strategy in the databases provided by the OvidSP platform (Medline, Embase, PsycInfo)
  • Find journal articles using the databases provided by the OvidSP platform
  • Set up an account on OvidSP to enable you to save your searches, and set up alerts to help you keep up to date

Prerequisites for this course:

Familiarity with the basics of searching for/finding journal articles

Who is this course for ?
SGUL or FHSCE staff and students, and NHS staff, who have some experience with the basics of research/literature searching and wish to explore more resources for their research.
