Healthcare excellence gets boost from free research journals trial for NHS staff

unlocked NHS content

NHS staff now have access to over 2, 500 free research and medical journals and 40,000 e-books as part of a country-wide trial. The trial, organised by Jisc, scientific publishers and librarians, supports the NHS focused recommendations of the government-commissioned Finch report into research article availability.

Access to many of the selected titles is via your NHS OpenAthens account, but others can be accessed seamlessly without a password from your NHS machine.

The publishers involved include, Elsevier (Open Athens) Nature (Open Athens) Springer (Open Athens), Oxford University Press, American Association for the Advancement of Science, Institute of Physics, Royal Society of Chemistry, and Annual Reviews

The titles can now be found on the NHS A-Z journals list and as embedded links from search results in the NHS healthcare databases.
