Excel Pivot Tables workshop

Wednesday 30 October at 1pm – 2.30pm

Library Training Room.

A Pivot Table is a way to extract data from a long list of information and present it in a readable form. Pivot tables can be used to summarise, analyse, explore and present your data.

  • Create a Pivot Table
  • Pivoting a Pivot Table
  • Create a Pivot Chart
  • Refresh a Pivot Table
  • Selecting elements of a Pivot Table

Requirement:  good knowledge of Excel fundamentals.

Word – For Dissertations & Module Assignments (Competent user)

Wednesday 4 November at 1pm – 2.30pm

Library Training Room.

Word has features, which can be used to enhance the presentation of projects/modules or dissertations by using some of Word’s more advanced features.  This will save time and take the headache out of structuring documents.

This session covers such areas as:

  • Using Page & Section Breaks effectively
  • Add different Page Numbers and Headers & Footers
  • Create & apply built-in Styles
  • Add and label Tables & Images
  • Generate an automatic Table of Contents, Table of Figures and Table of Tables
  • Inserting a Cover Page
