Summer Opening Hours in the Library

The library is soon changing to Summer Opening Hours. During August the library will remain open as follows:

  • Monday to Friday: 8am – 11pm
  • Saturday and Sunday: 9am – 9pm

The library helpdesk will continue to be staffed from 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday. Usual 24 hour opening times will resume from September.

The Research Enquiries Desk (RED) and IT clinic also have changed hours* over the Summer. The RED is now open from 12-2pm, Monday to Friday. The IT clinic is open 1-2pm, Monday and Wednesday.

We’re pleased to announce that the Library will remain open 24/7
over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend!

Please be aware will be operating self-service only during these times and
make sure you bring a valid ID card to access the Library.

Library staff will be unavailable from:
6pm on Thursday 29th March
until
8am on Tuesday 3rd April.

There is a lot of information to take in during your first week, so we have picked out 5 things you need to know about the Library and each day this week we will tell you about a different aspect of the Library service through our blog.

1 – When we are open

The Library is open:
Monday – Friday    8am – 11pm
Saturday – Sunday    9am – 9pm

The Library is self-service only after 6pm Monday to Friday, and throughout the weekends.  If there are any changes to opening or staffed times, such as on public holidays, a notice will be put on the Library Blog.

Self service facilities at the Library include:

  • access to study spaces and Computer Rooms
  • printing and photocopying
  • borrowing and returning books
  • viewing your library account and paying fines

The Computer Rooms can be accessed 24 hours a day throughout the year for those times when you are burning the midnight oil…
