Problems using the institutional login for e-resources

We are very sorry but there are continuing problems with logging into our e-resources using the institutional login (via Shibboleth). This includes RefWorks and using e-Shelf in Hunter.

are working to restore services after the power cut earlier today.

We will post updates as we receive them from @SGULIT and are very sorry for the inconvenience caused.

 

 

RESOLVED: Problems accessing Elsevier/ ScienceDirect e-journals from offsite/ via Shibboleth

The issues with article level linking to Elsevier journal content via Shibboleth has been resolved.

 

We have temporarily lost article level linking to Elsevier journal content via Shibboleth. This means that instead of linking to the journal article directly (from Hunter for example) – you land on the ScienceDirect homepage. Journal content is still available, you just have to “manually” navigate to the article required.
Elsevier are currently working to fix the problem, hopefully it will be resolved shortly. Onsite access is unaffected.

Important notice regarding access to SGUL MyAthens from 1st August

In order to streamline access to electronic resources, SGUL’s Athens access will be switched off after 31st July 2012.

From this date you will no longer have access to the MyAthens portal.

From 1 August 2012, all offsite access will go through the Institutional/ Shibboleth login option.  N.B. SGUL staff and students only. NHS Athens users are not affected.

Disruption to off-site access to Library resources – Today 24th July

Off-site access to Library resources (such e-books, e-journals and databases) will be unavailable or intermittent while changes are made to our Shibboleth authentication system.

The majority of resources will still be accessible onsite, although services that require a login via institution, such as RefWorks, will be unavailable.
